Why do you auction storage units? Occasionally, a tennant's account will become delinquent to the point that they are unwilling or unable pay their balance. After making reasonable efforts to collect the balance due, we will place a lien on the contents of the unit. If we are still unable to collect the full amount due, we will auction the contents to help satisfy the lien amount.
Who can purchase a storage unit at auction? Our auctions are open to the public. Anyone 18 years of age or older with a photo ID may participate in the auction, as long as they comply with the rules of the auction.
How do I pay for an auctioned unit that I win? The winning bidder must pay the amount of the winning bid inCASH ONLYimediately after each unit is auctioned.
Is a deposit required on purchased units? Yes. There is a refundable Clean-Out Deposit of $50.00 CASH per unit purchased. This deposit is due in addition to, and payable at the same time as the winning bid amount. This deposit is refunded if all of the units contents are removed from the premises by the Clean-Out Deadline (typically about 48 hours) listed in the Auction Sales Agreement.
Can I purchase more than 1 unit? Yes. You may purchase as many units as you have cash to pay for.
Can I preview the units that will be auctioned? No. The units will be opened for inspection approximately 5 minutes before the unit is auctioned. You can not enter the unit or touch any of the contents.
Why are you auctioning fewer units than what was advertised? Tennants are allowed to pay their balance at any time up to the day of the auction. If a tennant satisfies the lien on their unit, that unit will be removed from the auction list.
How can I find out about future auctions? Auction dates will be listed on the auction page of this website. You can also "like" the Milan Storage Facebook page to stay up to date on all our auctions.
